I was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta. Attended Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School where I was enrolled in Business and Commercial Art. I’m married with three children and three grandchildren. We have lived in Calgary for the past 30+ years. I have been carving eggs for the past 35+ years. I am self-taught in this form of Art.
The Calgary Herald has featured my eggs as well as other local papers. I’ve given Egg presentations to several women’s Groups and have helped class room Easter projects. I have been a part of the Christmas and Spring Arts and Craft Shows many times over the years.
The inspiration for my egg artistry began when I met a woman that had been decorating eggs for many years. I was amazed by the detail and potential creativity that could come from a simple egg. From a small child, I have always been fascinated by birds (and their eggs), flowers, insects, carving from wood, leaves and just the textures of nature’s wonders. From the moment I learned about egg artistry, I knew I wanted to combine my passion for nature and art, and take it to an entirely new level.
The Eggshell is a wonderfully unique medium. The Egg, Being the Symbol of Life, relates to many people, their culture and believes threw out the centuries has inspired me to share my art form with other people.
